Swadhar IDWC was established in Pune in 1995 as a branch of Swadhar Mumbai. It was set up to help women in distress irrespective of their caste, religion or community. It also works for the education, health and the over-all development of under privileged children, with special emphasis on a girl child from lower income group. It is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO

To realize its goals, Swadhar runs various activities and reaches out to around 25,000 women and children through it.

1.Counselling for women in distress (2 centres)

i)Family Counseling Centre, Pune

ii) Family Counseling Centre, Pimpri-Chinchwad

Awareness Generation Program in slums for women and for industrial workers.

2. Education Fund

Education Sponsorship for girl students from low socio-economic background., in schools or taking higher education ./vocational training or appearing for Xth through National Institute of Open chooling (NIOS)

3. Phulora: Vocational skills training program for adolescent girls in communities

Projects for Children in need of protection & survival

4.Mohor: A day care centre  and night shelter for the children of commercial sex workers


5. Rays of Hope :  Project for the rehabilitation of  children affected /infected by HIV/ AIDS

7.Reading Library for the children in Pune & Pimpri-Chinchwad Corp. Schools with wonderful books.to improve reading and language skills
